Silly St
Discovered on Albemarle Street, a side street off Picadilly, this wallpaper, with a wide repeating pattern measuring 6 feet wide, is reminiscent of the silks woven in Spitalfields. Originally it was a flock wallpaper with a dark blue pattern on a light background. An extremely expressive and expensive wallpaper for a second floor bedroom with a low ceiling. Such impressive wallpaper was actually intended to be displayed - and was often used in a ground floor reception salon to receive guests.
