Brooke House

The original document on which this pattern, found by English Heritage at Brooke House in London's Hackney, dates back to the 1920s. This special gravure printing technique was only commercially available after the turn of the century. In fact, the design was probably copied from a much older wallpaper.

The five color schemes in this collection have been produced using the rather painterly, textured surface print technique more typical of the older original wallpaper than that found by English Heritage at Brooke House in Hackney.
