SURFACES-
PREPARATION

New wood: untreated softwood lumber should be pre-treated with a wood impregnation primer. For best results on new uncoated wood that is resinous and has naturally resinous knots, apply two coats of Little Greene Aluminum Wood Primer to prevent discoloration before the base coat.

Smoothly planed wood should be thoroughly sanded and cleaned. It must be ensured that the surface of the wood is dry and free of contamination and dust. Rough sawn lumber should also be free of dust and other contaminants and cleaned when necessary. Coating construction with two layers of Little Greene Intelligent Exterior Eggshell.

Existing paint: Remove all loose substrate and chips from the existing paint. Degrease with a suitable one
Cleaning solution, such as lye, followed by a thorough water rinse. Thorough sanding with medium sandpaper
Grain to obtain a flat and intact surface and to even out areas where the paint has been removed. Make any repairs, sand and apply primer as necessary to the paint-free surface. Coating construction with two layers of Little Greene Intelligent Exterior Eggshell.

Little Greene Intelligent Exterior Eggshell must not be used on waxed surfaces. Painted surfaces are completely through
to remove or clean the wax using suitable means.

Metals: New ferrous metal components should be cleaned by hand or mechanically. Any surface rust must be removed and then primed with Little Greene Traditional Oil Primer Undercoat. Non-ferrous metals must be pretreated and primed with a suitable primer. Not suitable for walkable areas, such as wooden terraces.

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS

Component and air temperature should be above 10 ° C at the time of application and at least 3 ° C above the dew point when curing. When processing, avoid temperatures above 25 °C. Before use, make sure the moisture content of the wood is below 15%. Damp wood should never be painted as this can cause bubbling, peeling, cracking and premature destruction of the paint layer. Avoid painting work if there is a risk of rain or frost during application and drying time.

APPLICATION

Little Greene Intelligent Exterior Eggshell comes ready to use without dilution. Stir thoroughly before use and after long breaks. A professional finish is created by lightly sanding between the coatings and removing the sanding dust. The application and application should always comply with the general rules of technology and processing guidelines.

Brush: Use a high quality synthetic brush, appropriate size according to the application. New brushes should be washed by washing in clean water and dried thoroughly with a clean lint-free cloth.

Do not immerse the brush too deeply in the paint so that the paint does not get under the clamping ring. Avoid drips and splashes by not picking up too much paint with the brush. Apply paint evenly and only expand the painting area so that areas that are still damp can still be applied. For best results, always apply the final brush strokes in the same direction and never paint over paint that has already begun to dry.

For nested objects or locations where high ambient temperatures/strong air currents cannot be avoided, the open time can be increased by adding 10 to 15% (v/v) of an appropriate gradient optimizer. This is also the case with large ones
Flat surfaces are advised, although in such cases the use of a paint roller is recommended.

Roller: For optimal results on smooth surfaces, use a short-pile fur roller. For textured surfaces, use a long-pile roller as needed to achieve even and thorough coverage. Always carry out the last roller movements in the same direction and connect to the damp areas. Never paint over paint that has already begun to dry, as this will result in visible overlapping and streaking.

Spray application:

Conventional
Dilute with up to: 20% (v/v) water
Nozzle size: 1.60 to 2.00 mm (62 to 78 thou)
Air pressure: 0.28 to 0.41 MPa (40 to 60 psi)
Airless
Dilute with up to: 10% (v/v) water
Nozzle size: 0.28 to 0.54 MPa (11 to 21 thou)
Pressure at nozzle: 12 to 20 MPa (1800 to 2800 psi)

CLEANUP

The work materials should be cleaned with water immediately after use. Never store brushes and rollers in water as this will impair their application performance.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

Store excess paint in a cool, dry, frost-free place and away from direct sunlight. Ensure closures are securely and correctly closed after use. If unopened and stored under the above conditions, this product has a shelf life of up to two years. If necessary, turn the container upside down.

AFTERTREATMENT AND CARE

Cleaning: For light dirt, use distilled water and a clean sponge or lint-free cloth. Make sure the sponge or cloth is well moistened (but not wet) and wipe the affected area several times if necessary.

Note: Avoid placing heavy objects on the surface for at least a week after painting.

Repair: Lightly sand the areas to be repainted and apply appropriate primer to exposed surface material. Paint the entire area with one or two coats of paint. Touching up small areas alone almost always results in damage
an unsightly appearance.

DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING

Excess paint may only be disposed of through a certified waste disposal company. Empty metal containers can be recycled (remove plastic handle from 2.5L containers).

PRECAUTIONS

Always read the instructions on the can before use. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. For further information, see the safety data sheet.
